Autumn weddings are all about warmth, texture, and Autumn weddings are all about warmth, texture, and seasonal richness, which opens up many opportunities for impactful floral designs.

For this shoot, the brief was to decorate the ceremony barn @crockwellweddings with an autumnal-inspired feel, steering away from the typical oranges and reds in favour of softer, more romantic tones.

From the outset, I wanted to create an alternative autumn palette, so I reached out to my amazing British supplier to see which blooms were at their seasonal peak. An unexpected frost and heavy downpours meant it wasn’t until just days before the shoot that we could finalise exactly what would be available. But thankfully my favourite show stopper Café au Lait dahlias survived!

The result was a soft, textured, and layered autumnal aesthetic 💯 susatinable mechanics, using seasonal British blooms and foliage to create a ceremony space that felt organic, elegant, and perfectly in tune with the season, without leaning on the traditional autumnal palette.

Does this colour palette feel cosy and autumnal to you, or are you more drawn to the classic orange and red tones?

Next month I’ll be heading to Birmingham for the UK Small Business Awards and I honestly couldn’t be more excited! ✨

Running a floral business isn’t all pretty flowers and calm studio days — it’s early starts, late nights, long hours on your feet, sore hands and plenty of heavy lifting — but every bit of it is fuelled by so passion and love for what I do. 💐

Moments like this make it all feel so worthwhile.

To every couple who’s trusted me with their wedding flower vision, every venue that’s welcomed me in, and every person who’s supported my business along the way — thank you, truly. 🌸

Full circle moments 🌸 One of my closest venues Full circle moments 🌸

One of my closest venues — where I’m a recommended supplier — is @primrosehillfarm, a place that holds a special bit of history for me.

Thirty-five years ago, I used to ride their donkey down that same gravel drive with the family who owned the farm back then.

Now I’m back for a very different reason… to do a job I love.

Funny how life loops back like that — same place, new chapter, same feeling of joy.

(And yes, after years of saving, I did finally get my own pony! 🐴)

WHY Hibiscus? 🌺 When I was naming my business, WHY Hibiscus? 🌺

When I was naming my business, I kept coming back to the hibiscus flower.

It’s known for its femininity, delicate beauty, love, passion, and friendship — all the things a wedding celebrates and all qualities I strive to bring to every wedding I create.

In many cultures, like in Hawaii, hibiscus symbolises the union of two souls. Its short life — blooming for only a day or two — reminds us how fleeting and beautiful each moment is (just like fresh flowers on a wedding day). Yet its ability to bloom again and again speaks of resilience and strength.

As a child, I’d wander the roads of the Greek islands with my family, where hibiscus grew wild everywhere. On my most recent trip to Gran Canaria, I felt that same pull — a reminder to seize the day and appreciate what’s here, right now.

Here are a few photos of these beautiful flowers from that trip.
Carpe diem 🌺
